New reports are suggesting that Jack Whitehall and Nicky Byrne are up for roles in the Jamie Vardy biopic.
It was previously reported that One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson would play the Leicester City footballer, and it seems his fellow Soccer Aid players could be joining him.
Comedian Whitehall is lined up as Vardy’s agent John Morris, while former Westlife star Byrne may be playing Leicester City keeper Kasper Schmeichel, The Sun reports.
The film will be a rag-to-riches story which will is follow Vardy’s rise from non-league football to record-breaking Premier League glory, helmed by filmmaker Adrian Butchart.
The director explained: “It’s very important to the authenticity of the football sequences to have actors who can also play well.
“After the [Soccer Aid] game, several of the celebs expressed an interest in being in the film.”
He also claimed that Kasper’s father, ex-Man United legend Peter Schmeichel, had given Byrne his seal of approval.
