Tom Odell is the latest star to be in talks to join The Voice UK.
The 25-year-old musician has reportedly met with the producers in hope to get him on board as a coach as they believe he will attract a younger audience.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Producers want the show to be a big success in its first year on ITV.
“Getting [Sir] Tom Jones and will.i.am back was the first step, now they want more credible names and ratings draws. They think Tom ticks both boxes.
“Producers have had a number of discussions with him, but have spoken to others as well. It’s not a done deal yet but they’d love to have him on board.”
Emma Willis is to present the programme when it airs early next year and producers are also reportedly closing in on a deal with superstar Jennifer Hudson for the other vacant coaching spot.
The source added: “She is huge around the world. She’s got awards coming out of her ears and has bags of talent show experience. She’s their dream option.”
