The annual British LGBT Award ceremony took place last night (12/05/17) and were presented by Alan Carr and Melanie Sykes at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
Celebrities were out in force at the 2017 awards bash and the likes of Caitlyn Jenner, Tom Daley, Lauren Jauregui and HRH Prince William took home prizes.
Transgender star Caitlyn Jenner picked up the ‘Loud and Proud’ award for using her platform to help campaign for trans rights.
Newly married Olympic diver Tom Daley and his husband screenwriter Dustin Lance Black jointly received the “Influencer of the Year” prize.
Fifth Harmony singer Lauren Jauregui, who came out as bisexual in November last year, took home the “Celebrity of the Year” prize.
The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, picked up a special recognition award as he was named the “Straight Ally of the Year” for his campaigning against homophobic bullying.
Rylan Clark-Neal and his husband Dan were recognised for “Media Moment of the Year” after they became the first gay couple to host ITV’s This Morning.
The winner of the DIVA magazine’s “LGBT+ Broadcaster or Journalist award” was TV Presenter Clare Balding.
