Last year Mary Berry announced that she was stepping down from her judging role on the Great British Bake Off after the rights to the format were snatched from the broadcaster by Channel 4 in a mega-money deal.
The show has since made its debut on the network with Prue Leith taking over from Mary and joining Paul Hollywood on the panel.
Speaking at the TV Choice Awards exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Mary said about her replacement: “She’s very tall, she’s doing her own style, she looks wonderful.”
And the legendary baker has even tuned in to the show to see how good it is, she explained: “I’ve seen bits of the new Bake Off, it’s a wonderful format, they have followed it just the same, it’s got the same energy, brilliant bakers.
“Prue will be an excellent judge, she knows her stuff, it will go well.”
