Coronation Street legend Liz Dawn is reportedly fighting for her life in hospital.
The former Corrie actress, who quit her role as Vera Duckworth due to ill health in 2008 after 34 years on screen, suffers from a lung condition emphysema and was rushed to a Manchester medical facility on Thursday (07.09.17) suffering from chest pains and fluid on her lungs.
A source told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “She’s been in and out of hospital quite a few times in the last few years and normally the family are quite upbeat, but this time they seem more concerned.
“She’s not in a good way and her loved ones are obviously very worried.”
The 77-year-old star first appeared on Corrie in 1974 and her partnership with Bill Tarmey, who played Jack Duckworth was a huge hit with fans for years.
Her character was killed off in 2000 but made a brief reappearance as a vision to Jack as he passed away in a moving scene which saw them share one last dance.
