It has been reported that Cheryl is set to take over Nicole Scherzinger’s seat on the X Factor judging panel.
Apparently, the former Girls Aloud star will talk with X Factor bosses about a return to the show with Simon Cowell also meeting with the top execs about the vision for the show’s future and how they will bring Cheryl back.
An insider told The Sun: ‘Cheryl is the top choice and she is keen to come on board. But as yet, the conversations taking place have been unofficial, because we can’t begin official talks with anyone until the show’s schedule is agreed.’
It has been reported that there will be many changes for this year’s show and one of which will see Cheryl be offered £1.5million to return, although no formal decision have been made.
The source said: ‘But this is seen by most of the team as a formality, and even the most cautious have put the chances of her replacing Nicole this year at about 85 per cent.
‘It would be a huge shock if it didn’t happen.’
These meetings will be held before Simon returns to Los Angeles at the beginning of March to start filming America’s Got Talent.
It is believed that the show will be moved each week to avoid clashes with Strictly Come Dancing and Blue Planet.
Meanwhile, Cheryl has been teasing her music comeback the past couple of weeks too.
