There has been quite a lot of buzz surrounding singer-songwriter Kris James, so of course it only felt right to check him and his debut solo track ‘Eyes Open’ out.
The self-penned track, which has been produced by the legendary John Fields, tackles the idea of someone in a bad situation coming to a realisation of truth. With Kris’ captivating vocals packaged within an infectious melody, it’s the perfect song to help him embark onto his solo music journey.
Kris describes the inspiration behind the track: “At the end of the day we are all human beings and we all argue with everybody else, but I wanted to document this and make it aware that the abuse can come from either side, the female or the male.”
The music video, which can be seen at the bottom of the page, features CBBC actor Richard Wisker and tells a story of a destructive relationship. Despite being all smiles at the beginning, the sour turn within the relationship sees the lady losing her temper and clearly becoming abusive. However the cowering male eventually breaks free from the situation highlighting the positive message behind the track.
With a second single and an album expected to drop in 2019, we can’t wait to hear more from Kris James. In the meantime you can follow him on social media here…
