Years & Years star Olly Alexander says he would consider joining Strictly Come Dancing if he could dance with a man.
Appearing on Channel 4 show Sunday Brunch, the singer said: “I’d want a guy partner. I need a big man to spin me around.”
Asked if he would consider signing up for the BBC1 show if he could have a male partner, the 28-year-old replied: “Well, why not?”
These comments come after double Paralympic champion and former Strictly star Jonnie Peacock said he’d think it would be “really cool to see” same-sex couples on the TV show.
The BBC1 series has previously confirmed that it has “no plans” to change the mixed-sex format this year. But Strictly judges Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas have backed the idea and dancing pro Kevin Clifton said he would be happy to dance with another man on the programme.
